Facing giants

Doubt can kill faith, unbelief also! Trials come in all different ways, the things that we are faced with can often seem like giants.  Our problems can often be magnified by our own unbelief.

In scripture we can see this very scenario being played out in 1 Samuel verse 17 ( David and Goliath ) we see here Israel's army paralysed by fear, of the giant of the Philistine army.

Verse 24, All the men of Israel when they saw the man, fled from him and were much afraid.

These were mighty men of Israel, yet one giant had stripped them of their strength, and they had not even done battle with him, just his sheer size was enough to break their faith.

We all know the outcome, that David being so sure of the Lord as his strength, defeated the giant with his sling and some stones. Reflect on that a moment, David was not a man, he was a boy! A shepherd boy, but his trust in the Lord was complete, he did not doubt one bit that the Lord would help him defeat the giant before him. His trust was absolute in the Lord almighty,  Verse 45, Then David said to the Philistine, " You come to me with a sword and spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied".

What problems in your life seem like giants, do you feel powerless with your problems! Take a moment to pray, or even an hour or more, give your problems over to God and remain steadfast in faith of the one who gave it all. God is your strength, he is your light and your salvation, Whom shall you fear, The Lord is the stronghold of your life; of whom shall you be afraid!! taken from Psalm 27.

One last scripture to add is Matthew 19 verse 26: But Jesus said to them, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

So Stay strong and keep trusting God, he will be your strength always.

God bless, Jez.
